Trying to describe our breeds

First out is the Bracco Italiano

​The Bracco is the ultimate dog for positive amplification. Just show with your hands and body and when the Braccos does sa you want, reward it. If it is sloppy, whimsical or not where you want it to preform, it does not matter. You will get there in time. You don´t have to care for details, just have a vivion of where you are going, and you will get there in time. Some say they are the old mans pointer, and yes they are like grand children. Don´t ever be harsh to them, don´t get angry, because that will only upset them and will not take you further in your training. You could say that the Bracco is the Flatcoat of the pointing dogs, for those of you who have a history in retrievers. The wake up happy, go to sleep happy and live happily. The only thing that troubles them is scary things and being alone. They want to be apart of something, do things together and stay happy. Yes they are all over the place, but so are their hearts. They love life, the world and everything! They can do the same exercis 2575 times happily (in my opinion they probably do not have a clue what they are doing or why, but that does not matter) because if you reward them and tell them that it is a good way to do it, they will end up doing it whit a gesture, energy and force few other breeds have. 

So if you have time, don´t want to argue and might not know exactly where you want to end up – the Bracco Italiano is for you. Though you shall remember, 90% of them they hunt, all the time, every where, and ca not be of the leash if hunting is not allowed. They do not like to be alone, they want their human around all the time – and the energy will not decrease with age... You will laugh, you will get your heart filled with warmth and joy - and you will get to your goals, with time and patience...

Bracco är den ultimata hunden för positiv förstärkning. Visa bara med dina händer och kropp och när Braccos vill du vill, belöna det. Om det är slarvigt, nyckfullt eller inte där du vill att det ska utföras, spelar det ingen roll. Du kommer dit i tid. Du behöver inte ta hand om detaljer, bara ha en vivion av var du går och du kommer dit i tid. Vissa säger att de är den gamla mannens pointer, och ja de är som barnbarn. Var aldrig hård mot dem, bli inte arg, eftersom det bara kommer att störa dem och kommer inte ta dig längre i din träning. Du kan säga att Bracco är Flatcoaten bland de stående fågelhundarna, för er som har en historia i retrievers. Vaknar lycklig, gå och lägger sig lycklig och lever lycklig! Det enda som stör dem är skrämmande saker och att vara ensam. De vill höra till, göra saker tillsammans för då är de lyckliga. Ja de är "A"all over the place" men så är deras hjärtan gigantiska. De älskar livet, världen och allting! De kan kan gladeligen göra samma träningsmoment 2575 gånger med ett lyckligt leende på läpparna (enligt min mening har de förmodligen ingen aning om vad de gör eller varför, men det spelar ingen roll) för om du belönar dem och berättar för dem att det är en bra sätt att göra det på, då kommer de till sluta att göra det med en gest, energi och kraft några få raser har. Så om du har tid, inte vill argumentera och kanske inte vet exakt vad du har som mål med ditt hundägande - då är  Bracco Italiano rasen för dig. Men kom ihåg att, 90% av dem jagar hela tiden, året om över allt och kan inte gå ut utan koppel. De gillar inte att vara ensam, de vill ha sin människa i närheten hela tiden - och energin kommer inte att minska med ålder ...

The Chesapeake Bay Retriever

Do you have a plan? Do you know why you are doing this? Have you split this goal in to the perfect pieces? If not do not try it on your Chesapeake! They have brain, the need to understand why and there has to be a point in doing this (more than to get them to obey) our you will fail. But if you are willing to work with a soft but independent individual, if you are willing to give as much as you take – if you have your goals set – you will have a buddy that will do anything for you. They are soft, they are easily trained, but not for more than two perhaps three repetitions. So you have to do it right and with in a feew times they will have nailed it. But if you di not have the final goal set, then you will not be able to change the preformance, it is nailed down to perfection already. So a sitting that is slightly diagonal will always be diagonal, a sloppy retrive will stay sloppy the only thing that grows is the ability to do it for longer time and faster! So if you are willing to do it neatly, know where you want to go and are higly motivating – they are for you. If you are not, they will take charge and decide what have to be done and when, because they do not need you! They are independent and survive just fine with out you. So you need to creat a bond, to make them need you when very young, to make a strong connection between the two of you – and you have some one who loves you fiercly with every ounce of their body.

Har du en plan? Vet du varför du gör det här? Har du delat upp detta mål i små perfekta bitar? Om inte, försök inte göra det med din Chesapeake! De har hjärna, behovet av att förstå varför och det måste finnas ett mål att göra detta (mer än att du vill få dem att lyda), annars kommer du att misslyckas. Men om du är villig att arbeta med en mjuk men självständig individ, om du är villig att ge minst lika mycket som du tar - om du har alla mål spikade- då kommer du att ha en kompis som gör vad som helst för dig.
De är mjuka, de är lättlärda, men inte för mer än två kanske tre repetitioner. Så du måste göra det rätt från början och efter några få gånger kommer de ha spikat det. Men om du inte har det slutliga målet, så kommer du inte att kunna ändra prestanda, det är redan naglat det till perfektion. Så ett sittande som är något snett kommer alltid att vara snett, en slarvig apport förblir slarvig, det enda som verkligen förändras är förmågan att göra det under längre tid och snabbare! Så om du är villig att göra det noga, vet vad du har för mål och är mycket motiverande - då är de den perfekta rasen för dig. Om du inte är det kommer de att ta hand om och bestämma vad som måste göras och när, för de behöver inte dig till den biten! De är oberoende och klarar sig alldeles utmärkt utan dig. Så du behöver skapa ett band för att få dem att se att de behöver dig när de är riktigt små valpar (för 12 veckors ålder), för att få en stark koppling mellan er två - och lyckas du har någon som älskar dig starkare än något annat med varje uns i kroppen.

The Epagneul Breton / Brittany

I try to describe the Breton / Brittany as a mixture of

• A Meercat (there is nothing that they do not see, notice or take in consideration when making a decision! They are extremely aware of every single detail in the scenery/room/personality.)
• A Hyena (they do not see obstacles – it is facilitys! They hunt, all the time all year around all their long life! They are extremly social, with every living thing (perhaps not when you want them to or how you want them to be social, but they still are...)
• A Border collie / Poodle (they are brainier than most dogs and process all the time, perhaps not what you wanted them to process or they might not come to the conclusion you want them to, but they still process).

Are you ready to be seen as a facility? Are you ready for a formula one body, brain and processing? Have you got a plan, a detailed plan and do you have time to put their brains in to work, for short but many, many times a day? Then this is for you! It´s explosive, in both affection and energy. It´s strong both in will, body and mind. But it´s a penetrative soul, a philosopher, a thinker so you might have to do the same thing again, but more put into details. If you just love to dissect your work, get surprises and figure out how to better explain a matter – you will just love a Breton! You will have a life time student who will love to figure out things with you, if you can motivate it to see your goal – otherwise it will take off hunting for them selves on their own...

​Jag brukar beskriva Breton / Bretagne som en blandning av:

• En surikat (det finns inget som de inte ser, märker eller tar i beaktande när de gör ett beslut! De är mycket medvetna om varje detalj i landskapet / rummet / personligheten.)
• En Hyena (de ser inte hinder - det är anläggningar! De jagar hela tiden hela året runt! De är extremt sociala, med alla levande saker (kanske inte när du vill att de ska eller hur du vill att de ska vara social, men de är fortfarande ...)
• En Border Collie / Pudel (de är klurigare än de flesta hundar och bearbetar idéer hela tiden, kanske inte vad du ville att de ska processa eller de kanske inte kommer till den slutsats du vill att de ska, men de bearbetar ändå).

Är du redo att ses som en resurs? Är du redo för en formel en kropp, hjärna och behandling? Har du en plan, en detaljerad plan och har du tid att sätta deras hjärnor i arbete,  korta pass men många, många gånger om dagen? Då är det här för dig! Det är explosivt, både i kärlek och energi. Det är starkt både i vilja, kropp och sinne. Men det är en penetrerande själ, en filosof, en tänkare så att du kanske måste göra samma sak igen, men mer in i detaljer. Om du bara älskar att dissekera ditt arbete, bli överraskad och ta reda på hur du bättre kan förklara en fråga - du kommer bara att älska en Breton! Du kommer att ha en livstidsstudent som kommer att älska att räkna ut saker med dig om du kan motivera det för att se ditt mål - annars kommer det att ta av sig jakt med sig själva, på egen hand ...

The American Cocker Spaniel

​The american cocker is compared to their british cousins bibbable in all aspects, they lack that stubbornness that the english cocker have. If you tell them to jump, they will jump, and if you tell them to lie down when mid air – they will try! They will do anything for a treat or food, they are so easily motivated. The obey at once or not at all, it´s an immediate response on everything. You don not have to know a lot about dogs to understand them, as they are very obvious in their behavior. If scared they run off, if happy they waggle their tails, if they love you the will lick and hug you. They are very, very american in reaction. 
Everything is big, clear and immediate. In a group they can be tough climbing their way to the top, they are natural leaders – or more like they can´t see the reason they should not lead the pack? They are the center of the world, so why not? They never ever grow up, or in other words how ever wrong you did with it as a puppy it can be taught otherwise, or it can teach it self other things... They do as much as you train the to, and if not trained they are happy with that. Yes they can be obedience champions or used for most kind of hunting or they can be just a cuddle pet – and it might change over time to fit your lifestyle. They are easily stolen, as they love every body equally and can be re-homed with out a problem – they fit every where easily. 
Is there any reason they at the top 5 of most bought breeds in the world? Yes they are a bathe – blow – cut breed! Every 4-7th day they need to be shampooed (twice), conditioned, blow dried until totally desert dry and have their head, neck and coat cut. It takes about 1 hour with the right products to do a fully coated american cocker, longer with products of lesser quality. But for me it is i time to cuddle, care and meditate together. Are you willing to spend that time taking care of the coat – well why not have the ultimate friend for the whole family – an American Cocker Spaniel!

Den amerikanska cockern är i jämförelse med sina brittiska kusiner som är samarbetsvilliga i alla aspekter, de saknar den där envishet som den engelska cockern har. Om du ber dem att hoppa, kommer de att hoppa, och om du ber dem att ligga ner samtidig, när de befinner sig mitt i luften - så kommer de att försöka! De gör precis vad som helst något för en något ätbart, de är så otroligt lätt motiverade. De reagerar och lyssnar på en gång eller inte alls, de har en omedelbar reaktion på allt. Du behöver inte veta mycket om hundar för att förstå dem, eftersom de är väldigt tydliga i sitt beteende. Om de är rädda springer de iväg, om de är glada viftar de på svansen, om de älskar dig  slickar och kramar de dig. De är mycket, mycket amerikanska i sitt beteende.
Allt är stort, klart och omedelbart! I en grupp/flock kan de vara envisa för att klättra i rang, de är naturliga ledare - eller mer som de inte kan se orsaken till att de inte borde leda gruppen? De är ju världens centrum, så varför inte?

​De växer aldrig någonsin upp, eller med andra ord hur fel du än gjorde med det som en valp kan det läras på annat sätt, eller det kan lära sig själva andra saker... De gör så mycket som du tränar dem till, och om de inte blir tränade så är de nöjda med det. Ja, de kan vara tävlings hundar i lydnad och bruks eller användas för de flesta typer av jakt eller de kan bara vara en keldjur - och det kan förändras över tiden, allt för att passa din livsstil. De är lätt stulna, eftersom de älskar all lika mycket och kan byta hem utan problem - de passar in var som helst helt enkelt.

Finns det egentligen någon anledning att de inte ligger på topp 5 av de flesta köpte raser i världen? Ja, det är en bada (var 4-7: e dag måste de schamponeras (två gånger), inpackas med balsam, blåsa torra med fön tills de är snus torra i pälsen och få sitt huvud, hals och långa päls formklippt med sax & maskin. Det tar ungefär en timme med rätt produkter att göra en helt full-pälsad amerikansk cocker, längre med produkter av sämre kvalitet. Men för mig är det en stund tillsammans som består av kel, omsorg och meditation. Är du villig att spendera den tiden tar hand om pälsen - då har du hittat den ultimata vännen för hela familjen - en amerikansk cocker spaniel!
