So pleased with Iza and Ebba this weekend! Saturday I took them both to one of the horses fields (thanks Caroline and daddy for letting us use them) and did three separate sessions with Iza on partridge. Pointing four times and the steps she followed the birds after rising them became fewer and fewer.Ebba showed a very nice pattern and speed in her search, a bit to wide but it looks really promising!
Sunday was spent in an open field with the wind in our back. The plan is to walk up the birds and when flushed see how Iza reacts and work on shorter, and fewer steps. The first bird was like Saturday, the second time shorter and fewer and the third was a spontaneous immediate stop! Didn't have to give any signal or anything, and so directable afterwards. The plan is to continue that work until she is sure of the behaviour when a bird takes off.
Ebba showed a nice pattern and good speed in the field, she is still just 6 months old. So the plan for her is retrieving, obedience, directability and obedience, obedience and some obedience 😉 but now in larger fields and distances and with distractions.
Some days it feels so good to be training with dogs ❤️
Becca, well she is still on antibiotics until Friday and then a new date with the vet. Hagel is still limping from time to time, but no muscular pain and much more movable today.
The photo shows our lovely girls working hard while Martin and I made it through the last season of Game of Thrones yesterday. See how neatly Hagel sorted up the pieces of the bedding, how well Iza read an old copy of Dog World and how well Ebba read the magazine 🙈🙈🙈
Well all of us write here, both humans and dogs ;) At least that was the plan but it seems it´s mostly me Robyn who´s attached to the keyboard...
