It´s not that I don´t want to blogg

After the last spaniel field training my pelvis has been a bit upset. Those who know my hsitory knows that it broke down totally some years ago ant that I ended up in a wheelchair for some years. It´s much more stable than it was back tna, but the uneven grounds during spaniel training, har made all the pain exploding again. I´m not back in the chair, but I´m not able to walk long or run a single step at the moment. Sacrobelt back on and balancing on the edge is the situation at the moment. So no I´m not able to do what I could just two months ago, and blogging is not a priority. Dog training is, but the long walks are Martins buiness and I´m bound to the neighbour hood. Long drives in car doesn´t work and anything that takes concentration and sitting down.
So I´ll try to sum this week up quickly. Martin is at and education with the kennel Club  during this weekend. Martin took Edda for a pheasant hunt, which worked just fine until she found the tracks of a rå deer... Well one couldn´t blame her, it was quite spearse with birds as it was wet and late in the afternoon. We have moved the dog run to the other side fo the garden and puit up new fencing, as neither Edda och Iza noticed the fence we had earlier that as a sport to jump it.

Becca has been concentrating on sending out, calling in, sending out and has gained quite some speed in that work. We have been dointg retrieves on a line with both 3-4 dummies, and just plain obedience work. To day we tried "uppletande" searching for things in a 10*10 meter square witch is filled with human scents and blind retrieves. Okay, she has lost her nose, brain and was focused on finding birds, in the litle wooden area beind our house, not what I had planned. But w´ll do it more easy and in a fenced area next time - so that she will not be able to search all the neighbourhood in a 500*500 area... Out is quite some distance in her her obviously.

Iza is out of season now. We did noting new and backed of very much for the 13 days she was "occupied with other things in her mind", and on day 14 she walked up to me and said:
-Hello there, it is time to strat working again. She has grown quite a bit mentally during this time and has gotten bored with our easy retrieves. Lines, blind retrieves are to easy. We can do things like sending forward and then left or right. We are going to continue our work there so that we can do out, left, out, right. So the "uppletande" was a great difference by her opinion. She qickly notice the area of the square and worked through it slowly and carefully. She found all the retrieves and brought them in. The second time she gained more speed. She will have great fun with this fore some time and we will have to make the square larger next time, and probably add other obedience parts in to like sit, lay down, jump and given directions to keep her mind busy.

Edda and her retrieving has made so much progress that we did a "uppletande" with her to. In a fenced area with out distraction. She did 14 retrieves, and if she drops one to early I can ask her "appport" and she will pick it up and hand it over. She can still be very sloppy in her handing over, but compared to what it has been earlier when she ran off in the opposite direction - she is very, very neat. If she runs of, one can just say a calm, no no, and ask her to come in and she does so. Such a progress! Someone is going to have great fun with that dog, who is still undecided but with in twoo weeks we will know.

The quail has gotten 6 new babies and we have been practicing do not touch the hen indoors as usual, but not together as they have such a difference in progress there. Iza and Edda relax so fast, and Becca is so focused on the bird in it self - but when she is relaxed she can do work Edda can not and shall not, and vise versa. So we are splitting them up for that training from now on. Edda and Becca did some bird training on their own, the magpies had stolen some suet balls a few days ago, and well lets say that it made them easy target and that the young one was not vise enough to get away, but was retrieved over and over again by those two four legged girls. Iza, well she brought the gossip to me about their project...

We´ve decided not to take Becca to Stockholm, as I will not be able to do the trip fysically and Edda and Iza are too young to enter. We will enter them all to Gothenburgh and My Dog instead. Tomorrow is field training if the weather is good, the bird shall be able to fly for it to be a good session, and if it is too damp and cold they will not do that. On Wensday they will start to tare our basement down, every single wall and floor will have to go. An experience I do not wish anybody to have to go through.
