Today will be a sunny day so this afternoon will be bird work! The field of ours (daddy’s) is finally harvested and no rain means flying birds. Otherwise it will only end up in retrieved birds.
So we have continued our work in obedience (Hagel is getting better and better hind control, Becca will probably never be sure whether the whistle signal is about sitting, stopping or to be ignored but we continue to work on it 😅 and Iza is trying to teach me use exactly the same pronunciation every time when I give a command as I’m obviously 🙄 slacking in that department).
When it comes to purely workout Iza has naturally been of that work because of her sore pad, Hagel does that in her own speed as she is just 4 months old and Becca is finally getting equally left and right feeted, again after her pyometra.
About the hunting, Becca is working on respect for the game. A tough one for someone who has been able to actually catch birds on their own... Iza has been either a bit dragging in the rising but respecting or flushing and taking off! So more positive energy from me to her when pointing and rising and less controll after should be a way to find balance? It’s been over a week now since we could do any real work with game and maybe the last ones actually is stuck in her mind 😉
Hagel did her first triple retrieve outdoors yesterday and a search. The delivery is great and the speed, everything else is new so we work on that.
And in the spare time I write on the handbook for each of our breeds that will be given to those who buy a puppy of ours in the future.
I might publish some of these chapters here late on.
Now the dogs are complaining about my lack of interest in their morning training, so I better get focused 😅🤗
Well all of us write here, both humans and dogs ;) At least that was the plan but it seems it´s mostly me Robyn who´s attached to the keyboard...
