As Thursday is booked for a field work with Birger Knutsson and Maine Sterner, we had to focus a bit on birds today.
As we took the girls for a short work combining field reviering and retrieving yesterday and they both did an excellent work and Iza ignored the mice most of the time. But as there was a storm stopping us from any other real work done. So they were quite bored this morning and killed a roll of toilet paper, a paper box from the garbage and the hat of a stjarngosse.. So they were in deep need of some kind of brain work. We started off indoors with some easy distance obedience. Then we went out for a check of steadiness on dummies - a well needed reminder for the older girl and apparently something she loves when she remember it. Then ioff to the real bird and our totally open basement, finally we get some use for the space that is still not dry... The first bird was an older lady that refuses to fly and loves to be a dog pet. She got more than clean, but she's not really tempting for the dogs. So I switched to her daughter and she was fat but willing to fly. Iza used the same technique as last time, if it doesn't stay put in an open space she put her paw on the tail! Then she lays down and waits. Becca had a different plan, she treated it like a puppy, but when's he was trying to turn it upside down I stopped her. Then she tried Izas technique, but a Bracco is a bit stronger than a Brittany so the result was a bit of a shock to the bird. Noore floor training for Becca, we'll go outside for practice tomorrow ☺️ Kommentarerna är stängda.
