Friday night, read 21:30 we got a phone call telling us that 9 dogs had been with drawn from tomorrow’s field trial, did we want to start with Iza.? I had just let her run for 2 hours to get her really worked through...
So we packed the car, slept a few hours and at 3:00 in the morning we started to drive north. I can’t say driving home, though I lived in the area for 16 years. But that’s 20 years ago. As my body does not really cope well with the two hours in the woods on Friday we decided that Martin was the one starting Iza. I guess she is an easy dog as she happily work with whom ever. No dogs to price on this field trial last Sunday but Iza did some really nice work and unfortunately came up wrong in the strong wind and flushed the pheasant when she finally found one. But that’s not enough to get a price and she was way to tired after yesterday’s training. Total amount of time 56 minutes divided into 5 runs. (She did one 2 hour long one yesterday, probably 1 hour too much to be optimal before a field trial 🙈🤣) But as 8th reserve we did not expect to have the chance to start today. We got the phone call at 21:15 and drove up at 4 this morning. Extremely tired, thankful and gained a lot of experience during this trial. Great to be judged by the Brittany breeder Peter Nilsson and to get all the input from other judges, breeders and trainers ❤️ She is a real joy to work with Patricia Rush and is definitely worth a new chance soon! On Monday we went to Halmstad for a doctors appointment, but on Tuesday we: So very pleased with Izas work today, pointed 5 times, getting the birds in the air happily and stopped spontaneously! Even if the birds were both running and landing in sight, she still managed to leave them and continue to work on the next area and was rewarded by finding new birds. She has evolved so much the last week ❤️❤️❤️ Oh and I had the best of help, my niece aged 4 has been assisting both me and Martin when ever we work the dogs around her home. She’s got her own whistle now, and yes Iza obey that one too (it can be a bit of a mix up sometimes but one just has to encourage dogtrainers that young ❤️ Yesterday Martin got the results of the pre judge test and he passed 🍾🍾🍾 So now fingers crossed for him making the preparations course in June. 🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻 Today is bathing, spa and pampering and tomorrow is the show in Växjö and then we are drivning down to Denmark 🇩🇰 for the two shows in Herning where Hagel will do her first show ever.
