in the thought that every sequence or command can be taught to a puppy or a untrained dog, if you just break it down to small pieces. But this method takes time, allows the dog to make choices and will take a lot of repetition.
If I want to be able to direct my dog out in the field with commands. I need to first make sure that it works indoors in short distances with out disturbances. Some start at 8 weeks with the puppy in your lap, treats that the either place or throw in different directions and when the puppy follows they add the command.
What you can see in these clips are the same idea, but with a bit more distance added. A fake landscape, 4 🍲 of treats and the commanding added after the dogs make their choices and with the slightly more trained dog - commands when they ask for help or guidance.
Well all of us write here, both humans and dogs ;) At least that was the plan but it seems it´s mostly me Robyn who´s attached to the keyboard...
