After a loooooong weekend which started with building show rings on Friday and ended after a long hot show on Saturday, water trials and Martin and the SÄKK gang pulling it all down again late on Sunday night, I guess we all feel a bit drained. But we have to recharge fast, as I hadn't planned for this to be a show summer.
We are actually booked for an obedience competition tomorrow night - because the recommendations from those who have been training pointers earlier was, obedience and contact is your work for the spring and summer. So we decided to listen and obey and booked four competitions in beginners class. Well and then Norrkoping happened, and all of a sudden we are in the show circuit too.
So to relax and do something else totally we spent yesterday with marking, retrieving while throwing pocket dummies. Yes I know I had a shopping ban, but those 4 little things are sooooo useful. I threw them while the dog is out on a search for a retrieve, while retrieving and during obedience training like when jumping a fence, on the way to 'rutan' or while Iza makes a turn around a cone.
I guess I will do the whole program today and use them as disturbance. Otherwise we have focused on the distance directions/ fjärrdirrigering, as Iza has been a bit too much on her toes there.
Ebba has been working on delivering while sitting and prolonging everything she knows, sitting on whistle signal and coming in and going out commands.
Becca has been working on Rallylydnad, retrieving and marking. To keep them in memory even though she does obedience work in between the retrieving.
Now I need coffee and then we're going out to work a bit more ❤️
Here you can see how tiny the pocket ones are compared to the more traditional ones.
Well all of us write here, both humans and dogs ;) At least that was the plan but it seems it´s mostly me Robyn who´s attached to the keyboard...
